A Smart Wheelchair for physically challenged people Using ARDUINO and BLUETOOTH Module

Abstract

Technological innovations can help people with physical disabilities in several ways. This work aims at designing and implementing a mobile remote-controlled wheelchair, by turning a traditional wheelchair into a smart one with enhanced functionalities and utilities. With the new features the user can move the wheelchair around at his/her discretion.

The system was designed using Microcontroller Motor Driver, Dc Motors and Battery, and implementation is based on Android OS, Arduino Microcontroller, Bluetooth Module and Motor drivers. C programming language was used to implement the system with the desired features. The system has been tested and used by individuals with special needs and expressed their appreciation and wished to make it ready for use with affordable cost.
